REVIEW: LoveJojo Box

I have managed to brush off EVERY mystery subscription box in existence (despite major temptation) but last week I caved when LoveJojo announced the following:

"EXCITING NEWS! To celebrate reaching 100k followers on Instagram, we are giving away 100 LoveJojo Boxes! 💖💖💖

Go to our website (link in bio), add the LoveJojo box to your basket and enter the code GIVEAWAY100 to get 100% off! Just pay for shipping 💕

We hope you enjoy, everyone! This is only valid while stocks last and only limited to the first 100 customers who claim one! Thank you again for supporting us over the past 8 years 🙏💖♥️""

I placed my order 1st June with the code and paid for postage which was £4.99 (full price of the box is £9.99) and it arrived on 7th June.

...

Let's see what I got!

Initial thoughts: the box is V cute and seems a good size!

Initial thoughts upon opening: there are no snacks?

Okay, so there are 8 things in the box (inclusive of the three sheets of stickers) which seems like a decent amount and works out at 62p per item based on the £4.99 I paid or £1.25 per item based on the full price.

I love Hello Kitty and this seems to be a very practical item which I feel could come in handy in adulting one day!

So this pill shaped guy is a pen! It's not really my kind of kawaii stationery but it is practical and most importantly, it works!

Is a kawaii box really kawaii without plush items?
Of course not and I have two!
The pony is a keyring and the banana a charm. They're cute but the pony isn't my cup of tea, unfortunately.

I am in two minds about this Chococat notebook. I LOVE stationery, I LOVE collecting notebooks but I also RARELY use notebooks nowadays...

STICKERS!!! The Emoji ones are eh but I actually LOVE the llama x sheep and Gudetama stickers!

And that's everything in my box! On a different note though, shall we look at another box for comparison??? Because Sophie ALSO bought this box!

Sophie's box!

Hold up a moment... this box is VERY familiar!
Okay then, so there is nothing to actual compare here because we got exactly the same things?!

...

CRUNCH TIME!

Packaging: 9/10 - the box is really cute, matches their brand aesthetic and is sturdy!

Price: 4.5/10 - okay! So the £4.99 I paid was very good for the amount of stuff and I would rate that 7/10 (I would rate 3/10 for the full price - sorry) but I wasn't really into the stuff in my box so it wasn't really good value for me personally.

Content: 5/10 - in all honesty, the stuff is cute but not really for me. I would only actual personally buy half of these things so it get's half marks.

Overall: 6/10 - so my first mystery subscription box experience was okay but it's pretty obvious at this point that the cute packaging saved the day (why am I such a sucker for packaging?!) because everything else scored pretty low.
I know that if I were to buy the content at say a convention, even the keyring itself must be around £5 which makes this a steal as a box but as a whole, I feel like if I knew the contents of the box ahead of time, I would not have purchased it because it's not for me. Most importantly, I'm a bit sad that there were no edibles in this box :<

Final Thoughts:

Having seen Sophie's box, I kind of feel like rather than boxes of mystery, these are boxes of excess stock? Okay, so these are 2/100 boxes so it's possible that it's a coincidence but we might never know!

---

So that's my first subscription box experience. Safe to say, I probably won't hazard another.
If you ordered one of LoveJojo's 100 free boxes, what did you get? Was it the same as us?
Let me know!!
