The End of an Era - Hear Me Roar!

Image
For those who watch Game of Thrones (especially from the very beginning), it truly feels like the end of an era!  There have been a lot of mixed feelings about the finale and Season 8 in general but there will be no spoilers here! In fact, while there were a lot of things that didn't play out the way I would have hoped, I am very satisfied - I just wish there was more because now I miss it! ... Which comes to the main body of this post! Since the Season has come to an end, I have not been able to stop thinking about building a Game of Thrones themed coord! My heart is with House is House Stark - it's Bean-chan's House after all (I still miss Ned Stark so much T__T) but I actually REALLY enjoy seeing what the Lannisters get up to!  Now, I don't own anything fitting for a Stark coord and I also lack anything regal or with crowns so watch as I TRY to build a Lannister themed coord with the things I own! First things first, we gotta make it red! I

The Met Gala for UK Lolitas

I'm not usually into Hollywood and celebrities but every year I get really excited for the Met Gala and what everyone wears. As I went through various articles looking at what everyone wore, I drew a comparison to the annual Tea Party Club events. Four outfits in one night! My Queen! Now, now. I know they are two very separate things but for me, it's kind of like the Met Gala in the sense that there's a theme and because it's my biggest event of the year, I always feel like I want to get really creative with it! Now that I think about it, I took TPC 10 ft AP - Dream Masquerade Carnival real seriously. I made two mood boards that I thought fit the theme of 'Dream Masquerade Carnival' - one gothic and one sweet.   To be honest, I don't own anything gothic and I don't think it's possible for me to wear gothic lolita and not look like a chibi vampire so I went with the sweet interpretation.  Because Angelic Pretty were going

100 Years of Bettys

Welcome to 说来话长 - It's a Long Story, a blog mostly dedicated to my adventures in Lolita but also featuring aesthetically pleasing shopping and food so let's kick things off with last weekend's meet at Bettys! Bettys is a family owned company and tearooms in Yorkshire founded in 1919. To celebrate it's 100th birthday, we had an afternoon tea meet at the tearoom in York (St Helen's Square). Up until now, there are 6 tearooms all of which have a shop as well as a cafe:  Bettys Harrogate - Parliament Street, Harrogate Bettys York - St Helen's Square (there are 2 in York so I call this 'Big Bettys') Bettys Stonegate - Stonegate, York (I call this 'Little Bettys', it's generally quieter) Bettys Northallerton - High Street, Northallerton Bettys Ilkley - The Grove, Ilkley Bettys Harlow Carr - RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate You can find more info and full addresses here *** You win some, you lose some I had originally plann
